The SS Yongala lies in 28 meters of water, ESE of Magnetic Island and is described as an "Oasis in the desert". Around 110 meters long and surrounded by kilometers of sand, marine life flock to this site making this shipwreck one of the most diverse dive sites in Australia. It has everything from nudibranchs and sea snakes to turtles, bull rays and the Giant Queensland Grouper, this is Australia's premier wreck dive, and is an absolute must for those seeking an unforgettable diving adventure!To dive the SS Yongala you must be certified as a PADI Open Water diver or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 logged dives. As an Open Water diver you'll be restricted to a maximum depth of 18m and must dive with one of our staff members. However if you do your DEEP and WRECK Adventure training dives with us, we are able to take you to the bottom of the SS Yongala Wreck (28m).. Your Deep and Wreck Adventure dive will be credited towards your Advanced Open Water certification

Terms and Conditions Open water students are required to obtain a dive medical {A.S.4005.1) prior to open-water dives. Failure to complete a medical prior to course may result in a materials fee.
